The Garfields’ devotion to amassing an in-depth survey of fine prints and their steadfast commitment to art-related foundations was exceptional. The Garfield Collection is both broad and deep, featuring well established artists as well as lesser known ones, always with a dynamic exploration of their work within the printmaking medium. This October, Christie’s New York will present the final installment of The Ann & Gordon Getty Collection. Completing the landmark series of sales held in October 2022 and June 2023, this grand finale features the collection from Mrs. Getty’s birthplace, a walnut farm outside of Sacramento known as Wheatland.
Impelled by romanticism rather than convenience, Ann Gilbert Getty transformed her childhood home into her own rendition of the English country house.
